And In the Red Box
And In the Red Box
And in the red box
tied with red ribbons
tell me justice lies
and school books for children
tell me there is
a sandwich
for the man
starving
on the corner.
Tell me when Christmas
comes
peace
and a warm fire
happiness
and
joy
an end
to selfishness
comes with it
tied with red ribbons
tell me justice lies
and school books for children
tell me there is
a sandwich
for the man
starving
on the corner.
Tell me when Christmas
comes
peace
and a warm fire
happiness
and
joy
an end
to selfishness
comes with it

Dumb Ways to Die
Sick! Sick! Totally sick but I can't stop singing this tune now that I've heard it and I know that my students will love this as well. We had the transport department come to the school a few weeks ago to talk to the students about train station and without doubt, it was the most boring two-hour long talk I've ever heard in my life. They should have just shown this! I definitely won't be standing too close to any train platform after watching this video!

After nearly a year of doing relief work and teaching in other people's classrooms, I finally FINALLY have a classroom that is mine, all mine!!
All I want to do now is decorate it!! Any ideas? :-)

Having a whale of a time!
Lately, I've been really big on giving experiences for presents rather than gifts that will be thrown away or forgotten. My mom loves nature and the sea and so for her birthday, I took her on a whale watching cruise in Fremantle! We were so lucky to find these two beautiful Humpback whales that were so friendly and very curious about what was happening on our boat! They played for us, waved at us and even stuck their heads right up to the boat to have a sneaky peek at what was happening on board. It was such an amazing experience and something that's been on my bucket list for a long time so I'm very pleased to have been able to give my mom such a unique birthday present that she loved and share this once-in-a-lifetime experience with her :-)

Some Saturday morning inspiration...
Just when I thought my week was bad, I hear there are students in Ireland that are living in tents due to the high cost of rentals!! :-) Hehe! This youtube clip really inspired me, it's not often these days we see people who are willing to put themselves into an uncomfortable situation to achieve the things they want to in life. And it's very refreshing to see them do it with a great attitude, rather than grumbling and mumbling about it :-)

Good morning, Miss Manship!
Tomorrow is my first day as a teacher at a school for at-risk teenagers. In my mind, it will be something like this:
...but in reality, will probably be a lot more like this!!
Wish me luck!! :-)

Itsy bitsy spider
Today at school we were talking with the students about different fears that people have. Apparently one of the top ten fears that people have is the fear of spiders. Now, I don't normally like prank videos but this one had me belly-laughing until I was sore! :-)
